WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Shower chances will be winding down for today as the slow moving front that has caused the showers continues to slid to the south. As it does, our temperatures will struggle into the mid 50s this afternoon in spite of having some breaks in the clouds.
The front moves south, but not quite far enough south to rule out a morning shower on Thursday. As we head into the afternoon Thursday high pressure from the north and the west pushes into the region. This will help to dry things out and cool them off as we head into Friday and Saturday with lows near, or just below, freezing. Highs will move into the mid 50s. Gradual warming will continue through the weekend, with some pleasant sunny conditions.
A dry cold front Sunday into Monday will once again cool us down for next week.
