COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A teenager was killed in a traffic accident in Whiteville Friday morning.
According to highway patrol officers, Ian Quattlebaum, 16, died when the car he was in struck a tree along Tom Sessions Road. His cousin, 18-year-old Daniel West, was driving.
Investigators say, West lost control of the car.
Troopers tell us, Quattlebaum was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, but it appeared his head went through the passenger window on impact.
