WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Be prepared to pay $7 if you plan to park in the City Parking Decks in downtown Wilmington Monday night.

According to the City, the parking decks will be in "event" mode in anticipation of an influx of people celebrating the New Year.

The $7 parking fee will begin at 7:00 Monday night and last until 2:00 Tuesday morning.

Event mode allows drivers to exit the decks more quickly, since they will pay when entering the deck.

The same policy will be used for parking during the Azalea Festival, River Fest, and Fourth of July.

Credit cards are accepted in addition to cash.
