OAK ISLAND, NC (WECT) – An investigation into a fatal
accident will keep the Oak Island Police Department busy through the Christmas
holiday.
Just after 5 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a single car
crash on E.F. Middleton Boulevard, just south of NC Highway 211. Sgt. Greg
Githens confirmed the only person in the car, a male driver believed to be from
Brunswick County, was dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is undetermined as of Monday
afternoon, said Githens. No other details are available as of this report,
because the accident is still under investigation.
