(Source: BCSO)BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Two suspects face drug charges following a traffic stop conducted by the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office Vice/Narcotics Unit.
Multiple bags of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized by authorities Friday, according to a sheriff's spokesperson.
21-year-old Hakeem Vereen of Ash, NC and 19-year-old Alex Hamilton of Shallotte, NC face the following charges:
-Possession with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana
-Possession of drug paraphernalia
Authorities seized 20 bags of marijuana (weighing about 21 grams), and $70 in cash from Vereen and 127 bags of heroin and $1,256 in cash from Hamilton.
The heroin was hidden in a hidden compartment in the car's dash.
Vereen was given a $5,000 secured bond and Hamilton was given a $50,000 bond.
