WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Some crew members from NBC's hit show, Revolution, are spending their break from the show volunteering their time on another project.

We were invited behind the scenes of FET, a short film that is being shot in Wilmington.

"FET" is a military term for Female Engagement Team.

The movie follows an Arab-American, female Marine and her challenges on the battlefield and at home.

Heath Franklin is the writer, director and producer of the flick.

"Amazingly, all these people have come together and they are gung ho about making this film and everyone is excited about it," he said. "The energy's great and the mood on set has been fantastic."

He said several local production companies donated cameras and equipment. The crew members are donating their time to the project. Our Ashlea Kosikowski even volunteered to be part of the project, appearing as a news anchor in a scene.

"It really goes to show that the people who are into film, we love doing what we do and I guess sometimes you forget that," Franklin said. "It's nice to see all the people and all the support and everyone happy to do something like this."

Franklin hopes to generate interest in the film and find funding to make it a full-length feature film.
