WHITEVILLE, NC (WECT) - A man prosecutors describe as a "long time drug dealer" will be off the streets for some time.
Prosecutors in Columbus County say Terry "Turbo" Long, 42, pleaded guilty to four counts of trafficking opium, one count of fleeing and eluding police and one count of being a habitual felon Wednesday. The trial was about halfway over when Long decided to take a plea, according to authorities.
A judge sentenced Long to between 110 months and 141 months in prison. Prosecutors say if Long would have taken the plea they offered him Monday before the trial started, he would have received between 88 months and 110 months in prison.
