WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - During the holidays, crimes like home and car break-ins increase. Recently a man caught two suspects with the help of a security beeper.
These security beepers are perimeter sensors. They can be bought at any hardware store and can range from around $20 to the thousands.
"The price of the device doesn't mean more effective," said William Ratcliff, private investigator. "It could mean more range."
New Hanover County Sheriff's Office and Wilmington Police Department offer extra patrol during the holidays for residents who are out of town. Log onto their website or call the front desk.
