NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Two schools in the New Hanover County school district will take place in the 2013 Carolinas Kickoff Clash.
Schools from North and South Carolina will go head-to-head over the Labor Day weekend in Myrtle Beach during the Derrick Law Firm Carolinas Kickoff Clash.
"I'm hopeful this event continues to grow and becomes a yearly ritual for all the football fans in our area," said Dirk Derrick, owner of the Derrick Law Firm.
The Hoggard Vikings are slated to take on Irmo August 31 at 1 p.m. and the New Hanover Wildcats will face Conway at 8 p.m.
"Football fans from around the Carolinas will have access to some of the most competitive high school football games in the country," said Mark Stafford, a 151 Sports Marketing representative. "If there is a better 24 hours of high school football in one stadium out there I would be surprised."
