Men, women cited following prostitution crackdown

Several men and women in New Hanover County were cited recently following an undercover prostitution operation, according to a spokesperson for the sheriff's office. NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Several suspects in New Hanover County were cited recently following an undercover prostitution operation, according to a spokesperson for the sheriff's office.

A total of 11 people were cited, three of whom are women accused of offering sex acts for money and eight of whom are men accused of engaged in soliciting prostitution.

The following suspects were cited, and any additional charges are listed as follows:

Women

-Kristol Lawson* (UPDATE: The charge against Kristol Lawson was dismissed on February 12, 2013, according to court records.)

-Rhianna Wilson (engaging in conversation for the purpose of procuring or soliciting sexual intercourse for money)

-Shannon Pedreso

Men

-Stanley Hollingsworth

-Tyler Sugden

-Christopher Bunch

-Jeremy Newton

-Anthony Schillmoller

-Bradley Denney

-Richard Garry

-Michale Jones

-Audwin Lamar Jones (charged with PWISD sch. II and possession of drug paraphernalia)

Other than Jones, the others were released with citations.

The operation was sparked by multiple complaints from citizens.

"Prostitution has been a growing concern in our community," said Captain Ciamillo of the NHSO Vice and Narcotics Division in a statement. "There is a known connection between prostitution and narcotics use and it's very concerning to us."
