Get in on some grocery deals during the holidays

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Finding ways to save money during the holidays for many is a gift in itself. Local coupon expert Delly Mellor shared some tips to keep in mind in the next couple weeks.

Here are the deals she highlighted:

Restaurant Bonus Gift Card deals (so many restaurants do this for the holidays only) are abundant this time of year, where you buy gift cards to eat there in advance and get bonus gift cards, so it's literally earning free food. The list of restaurants it includes Chilis, Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesday, Longhorn, Red Robin, and so many more, along with some local chains such as Oceanic, Bluewater Grill, Henry's, Carolina Ale House and more!

Get your medicines before you get sick- medicine deals, such as a CVS deal where people can get name brand medicines for less than store brand. Specifically, Advil, Children's Advil, Robitussin, Dimetapp and others for only $2.50 each at CVS. Make sure you have a CVS rewards card- they're free.

Bed Bath and Beyond takes expired coupons for their store coupons.

Triple coupons are going on in Leland at both Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods. Examples of great deals to be found there, especially on baking products/holiday products such as sugar, cake mixes, cooking oils and spray, etc. Some items for FREE or less than $.50.

Delly is also holding a "How to Cut Your Grocery Bill by 50% or More!" workshop in Wilmington at NE Regional Library on January 12.
