BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A pedestrian was killed in Brunswick County early Tuesday morning after being hit by a car.
According to troopers, John Hinson, of Winnabow, was driving east on Cedar Hill road just before 6:45 a.m.
Troopers say Hinson drove up behind a moving school bus and passed it on the left side of the road. As Hinson was passing the bus, he hit pedestrian Samuel Howard Peterson, 61 of Leland. Peterson died at the scene.
Troopers are investigating the accident, but no charges will be filed at this time.
