After seeing our report Monday night at six o'clock, people have been heading to Downtown Wilmington to try and free a kitten trapped in a sewer.

The little, gray kitten is in a drain near the corner of Third and Princess Streets at the County Courthouse.

Monday night, one Wilmington woman ventured into the manhole to feed the kitten. It ate the food, but every time she tried to approach it, it ran away.

Court workers heard the kitty meowing and crying for help Monday morning. Several have since tried coaxing the kitty out, to no avail.
