WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A professor from UNC Wilmington is joining other university faculty from across the country in proposing a potential solution to the fiscal cliff discussions taking place in Washington D.C.
Cherie Hennig is an associate professor of accountancy at the UNCW Cameron School of Business. Hennig, along with faculty from the University of Colorado, The Ohio State University and Virginia Commonwealth University, are calling for a 34% MAXtax rate on business income as the potential answer.
They are promoting their idea in a publication called "Tax Notes," which is out Monday. "Tax Notes" is produced by Tax Analysts, which is a nonprofit organization that focuses on tax issues.
