WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Fog and mist may cause some problems for morning commuters as unseasonably warm and humid conditions overrun the area. How warm? Overnight ‘low' temperatures are running some five degrees above typical mid-December high temperatures. Thermometers are in the mid sixties across the area with strong southerly flow today; those temperatures will surge into the mid seventies by this afternoon.
This is all ahead of a slow moving cold front to our west. Breezy conditions are expected his afternoon with the chance of a spot shower through the overnight hours. The rain chances get jumping on Tuesday night through Wednesday as the front moves in and stalls off of the east coast. Our temperatures will remain moderate Tuesday with highs in the mid 60s. The showers should shut off by late Wednesday night as colder air finally pushes in.
Pleasant conditions are expected into the weekend.
