David McCory (Source: Robeson County)ROWLAND, NC (WMBF) - A 68-year-old woman is recovering from a beating, and her son is in jail facing charges.
Major Branch with the Robeson County Sheriff's Office tells WMBF News that 41-year-old David Lee McCory called for an ambulance for his mother.
When police arrived they saw that McCory himself was covered in blood, and his mom was in the fetal position on the floor, also covered in blood.
Major Branch says the woman was unable to speak before she was transported to Southeastern Regional Medical Center, were she was treated and transferred to another hospital.
McCory is charged with felony assault. He remains in the Robeson County Detention Center with bond set at $50,000.
