Sanah Sayani joined WECT in June 2012. Sanah received a fellowship from Raycom Media. As part of her fellowship, she receives training in every department of the news station. She spends most of her time as a general assignment reporter and producer. She reports on the three beach towns in New Hanover County.
Sanah was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and spent her childhood there. She spent some time in Montreal, Canada before moving to Atlanta, GA. She attended Emory University and graduated in 2008 with a Business Administration degree. Sanah realized business was not her thing so she encouraged her parents to start an Indian radio station. She went back to school and graduated in 2012 with a Digital and Broadcast Journalism degree from The University of Georgia.
While she was at UGA, Sanah interned at WSB-TV in Atlanta, GA where she learned the ins-and-outs of the news industry. She also reported and anchored Grady Newsource, UGA's student-run news station. She even spent time on the production side.
When Sanah is not working, she listens to music and watches TV shows. Her favorite band is One Direction and her favorite TV shows are The Vampire Diaries and White Collar. She enjoys baking, playing with her American Eskimos (Angel & Lily), and taking road trips!
Sanah would love to hear from you! Feel free to email her at ssayani@wect.com with any story ideas!
