
WIMLINGTON, NC (WECT) – A family's pet was killed in a house fire on Ivey Circle late Sunday night.
According to David Hines with the Wilmington Fire Department, crews were able to control the flames within six minutes of arriving to the home.
Hines said the fire was contained to a bedroom and bathroom with smoke damages throughout the property. Damage estimates are about $50,000.
Fire investigators believe the cause was accidental and was electrical in nature.
No one was home at the time of the fire. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
