Authorities are currently searching for a suspect in connection to a reported stabbing that took place in the area of Sunset Avenue Saturday night, according to New Hanover County dispatchers.WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Wilmington Police report there are no suspects as of Sunday night for a stabbing near the 300 block of Sunset Avenue.
Lieutenant Mary Green tells WECT.com that someone stabbed Brian Mayer Sunday night, giving him a 3-4 inch cut to his stomach. The incident is believed to be the result of a dispute over drugs.
Mayer was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center by a private vehicle rather than being taken by an ambulance Sunday.
His current condition is unknown.
