
Council members took a first look at the architecture for the $33 million project during a mini-retreat in November.WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The City of Wilmington received confirmation Friday that Harmony Hospitality, Inc. had met the deadline to submit an application to build a hotel for the convention center.
Harmony Hospitality applied to build a $33.6 million, 186-room Embassy Suites. According to the City of Wilmington, the proposed 163,000 square foot hotel would include a second story full service restaurant and 6,000 square feet of meeting space.
The all-suite hotel would be about the same height as the nearby Hilton Hotel.
The completion of the application process is a key part in paving the way for the next steps that have to happen before construction can begin on the project.
