CHADBOURN, NC (WECT) - The town of Chadbourn will have a new mayor soon.
According to council members, last Thursday night current Mayor Kenneth Waddell turned in his letter of resignation.
Earlier this month, Waddell was elected to the State House of Representative District 46 seat.
At Tuesday night's meeting, council members will vote on a new mayor, which will likely be Mayor Pro Tem Fax Rector.
Council members will also discuss who will fill the vacant seat on council.
