Mary Lee, a 16-foot great white, was tagged off the coast of Cape Cod in September.WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A shark tracking website lets you track tagged sharks all over the world. And one of those sharks is right off the Carolina coastline.
The OCEARCH Global Shark Tracker uses data from sharks tagged with satellite tracking technology.
One of those sharks, "Mary Lee," was tagged off the coast of Cape Cod in September of this year. Now, May Lee has stopped off on a tour of the Carolina coastline.
Starting a few hundred yards of the South Carolina coastline near Hunting Beach State Park Tuesday, Mary Lee is making her way north.
She was "pinged" off the coast of the North Myrtle Beach Wednesday and has now made her way off the coast off Bald Head Woods State Reserve in North Carolina.
