Wilmington businesses see boost from Saturday salesWILMINGTON, NC - (WECT) - It seems like all of the work to promote Small Business Saturday in downtown Wilmington paid off.
Several businesses told WECT, they saw a boost in sales on Saturday.
"We just stayed on a wait the entire time," said Josh Cranford, of Front Street Brewery. "It was very positive and people just kept coming and going, just bringing more people downtown spreading the wealth."
He says events like Small Business Saturday are important to make sure the downtown area continues to thrive.
"We definitely had more foot traffic yesterday," said Trisha Tidwell, of The Wonder Shop.
"It being a gorgeous day meant more people and more transactions."
Other business owners said it really makes a difference, because in a places like Wilmington, there is more of a lull in sales in the winter.
