
Small Business Saturday is just hours away and local business owners are joining forces to give customers the best bang for their buck.DOWNTOWN WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Black Friday is almost over and now round two is about to begin in downtown Wilmington.
Small Business Saturday means customers will find the best deals on one of kind products from their very own neighbors.
Shoppers better get a good night's sleep on Friday because local businesses are offering some great deals for their neighbors.
"We don't have a lot of things that the big corporate stores do," said Michael Lambrix, the owner of Candles Etc. "We put everything we have into small business so that means a lot when they come in."
While some stores are planning to give their own individual discounts others are planning on joining forces.
Edge of Urge, Front Street Brewery, Gravity Records, Sugar on Front and Old Books are offering a special deal on Saturday.
"If you bring your receipt from any of those locations to any of those locations they're going to give you a discount," said Michael Ussery, the marketing director at Edge of Urge.
Front Street is offering five dollar appetizers if you have a receipt, Gravity Records will hand out a free CD, Sugar on Front will have free cookies and Old Books will give you a discount on your purchase.
Owners said Small Business Saturday is the best time to get a holiday gift.
"They're getting a locally made item and they're helping the local economy," said Lambrix. "It's really supporting the economy."
Free on-street parking was offered by the city of Wilmington on Thursday and Friday, but the offer will expire on Saturday.
