
The Holiday Train Expo, which showcases model trains and holiday villages, opens Friday night at Independence Mall, according to a news release from an event organizer.

The expo will run Fridays and Saturdays until Dec. 22.
On Fridays, it will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
Admission is free for children 3 and under, $2 for children 3 to 12, and $3 for ages 13 and up.
Additionally, the Cape Fear Model Railroad Society will be raffling off three model train sets at the show, including an HO Scale, an O Scale and a G Scale train set. Raffle tickets are $1 each, or six for $5.
