WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – High pressure will continue to build into the area today as highs will climb close to average. Expect high temperatures to reach the mid 60s with lows in the low 40s. Winds will vary throughout the day and range from 5-10 mph.
A relatively dry cold front will swing through the area tonight and really cool temperatures down for the weekend. Expect mainly clear skies tonight with highs in the low 40s. The weekend is looking great, but expect highs to fall well below average.
The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze watch in effect late Saturday night until Sunday morning due to below freezing temperatures. Lows Sunday morning will fall into the upper 20s and low to mid 20s inland.
Temperatures will climb into the mid 60s by Monday.
