WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Shoppers around Wilmington are getting ready to grab the door buster and early bird deals Thursday night, and for some, that meant standing in line well before the stores opened..
By 10 a.m., there were already about a dozen folks in line at Best Buy, and some said they'd already been waiting since 10 p.m. Wednesday night.
At least two tents were set up Thursday, and lots of folks had blankets to stay warm throughout the morning's chilly air.
Many in line said that it's a Thanksgiving tradition in their family, and some said they even ate their turkey Wednesday night to free up their Thanksgiving Day to get a good spot in line.
Many in line were hoping to purchase electronics – laptops, tablets, and TVs.
Best Buy will open at midnight Friday, while Walmart opens at 8 p.m.
Nationwide, about 147 million shoppers are expected to turn up for Black Friday sales.
