BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Two people are dead following a car crash that took place Thursday around 9:45 a.m.

According to Trooper Collins with the Highway Patrol, a 17-year-old female was driving a Ford Mustang south on Twisted Hickory Road without a driver's license. Four other people were in the vehicle with her, including two children.

Selena Cruz, 18, and Victor Cruz Antonio, 38, were killed Thanksgiving morning. Both lived in Bladenboro, according to Highway Patrol.

It appears that the front seat passenger in the car with her was teaching the teenager how to drive, and at some point, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the center lane.

A pickup truck traveling north then struck the passenger side of the Mustang, killing the passenger inside the car.

The Mustang then ran into a ditch, where three people were ejected from the back window, including an adult and the two children.

The adult who was ejected was also killed; however, the children, one of whom is 11 years old and the other, whom is said to be around 1-and-a-half or 2 years old, are expected to be OK.

The driver has been taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for injuries.

The two people in the pickup truck were transported to a nearby hospital and are expected to be OK.

Both the driver and front seat passenger were wearing seatbelts.

Highway Patrol could not release any more details on the crash or pending charges because the case is still under investigation.
