Alma Lawson went missing at the beginning of November. (Source: WPD)WIMLINGTON, NC (WECT) – The CUE Center for Missing Persons is now involved in the search for a missing elderly woman.
Alma Lawson, 83, was reported missing to police by her son after she didn't return home from a friend's house November 4.
Lawson's family filed a missing persons report with the CUE Center for Missing Persons earlier this week, and Monica Caison has a team in place to search for the missing woman.
Caison said a family waiting this long to file a report sets her back days in the search, as people start to forget key clues and memories begin to fade.
But all hope is not lost. There have been cases where people have been found alive weeks after they disappear.
Multiple agencies, including the Wilmington Fire Department, have participated in the search efforts so far. Crews have been focusing their efforts along Burnt Mill Creek.
The Center is asking everyone in the area to be more vigilant and help out in this case.
