Rob Demetrious is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He earned a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences degree in Organizational Communications and Journalism. While at UNC Charlotte, Rob was an active leader in student government, was a founding member of the university's football initiative and served as president/founder of the student based sports organization. Rob also contributed weekly feature sports/special interests columns for the Charlotte Observer, as well as his Alma mater's news publication, University Times.
In lieu of his accomplishments at UNC Charlotte, Rob was honored with the opportunity to intern at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. After graduation, Rob traveled across the United States with Ripken Baseball, teaching baseball mechanics and instructing thousands of youth players throughout the country.
Currently, Rob is a multi-media journalist for Raycom Media. While working at WECT and FOX Wilmington, he has had the opportunity to gain experience and master several roles as a multi-media journalist essential for a news broadcast. Rob also contributes two weekly feature sports columns for the Wilmington Star-News.
Rob's interests include sports, politics, his family and the care of his autistic brother James.
