School board member resigns to take seat on board of county commissioners

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A school board member has resigned from his position in Bladen County.

According to a Bladen County Schools spokeswoman, Michael Cogdell submitted a letter of resignation to the school system on Wednesday.

This is routine as Cogdell recently won a seat on the county's board of county commissioners, according to the school system.

Cogdell is expected to be sworn in as commissioner in early December.

The board of education will now have to begin the process to find a replacement for Cogdell.
