CHAPEL HILL, NC (WECT) - According to the University of North Carolina weekly injury report, kicker Casey Barth is listed as out for the final two games of the regular season after sustaining an ankle injury in the loss to Georgia Tech.
The Hoggard product's ankle was rolled on after a kick in the third quarter and the sprain won't allow him to kick.
"Just bad luck." Barth said Tuesday evening.
His availability for any postseason bowl game depends on how quickly the swelling goes down.
The news comes two weeks after the redshirt senior was named a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award given annually to the nations best kicker.
Barth owns every major career kicking record at UNC and has connected on 44-straight extra points and 15 of 19 field goals this season.
