WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Even though gas in the northeast is scarce, gas prices are still decreasing around the nation.
Gasbuddy.com released their weekly gas report on Monday, Nov. 12, stating the average retail gas prices in North Carolina have fallen 4.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.31 per gallon yesterday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 3.2 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.46 per gallon, according to gasoline price website NorthCarolinaGasPrices.com.
According to the press release, Sunday, Nov. 11, prices were 8.1 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 39.2 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 32.6 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 3.1 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
