WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – With high pressure just overhead, you can expect mostly sunny skies today with temperatures climbing into the 70's across the area. Temperatures will drop into the mid 40's overnight. Winds will be out of the southeast at 0-5 mph with calm conditions overnight.
This very nice weather pattern will linger into Sunday as well. Skies will remain mostly sunny with highs in the low 70's. Some inland locations could see temperatures in the mid 70's tomorrow. Temperatures will fall into the mid 50's overnight, much warmer than our last couple of nights.
As high pressure moves off shore, winds will shift Sunday just ahead of our next frontal boundary that will bring rain into the area mainly on Tuesday. However, there is a small chance of a pop-up shower late Monday, but I wouldn't cancel any plans. Temperatures will really climb on Monday! Highs in the upper 70's with mostly cloudy skies.
