WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Sunny and dry high pressure will be the main weather force this weekend with our highs warming each afternoon. Today will be the start of this run with cloudless skies and light northerly winds. It still will be jacket weather for the early morning and evening hours as our Friday highs will move from the upper 30s to the low to mid 60s.
But the transitioning high pressure center will be slowly moving by, helping to keep skies sunny, and temperatures moving into the 70s by Saturday and Sunday. Morning and evening temperatures will be brisk as we bottom in the upper 40s and low 50s.
Monday may be the warmest day out of the next seven as our temperatures will surge into the upper 70s ahead of an advancing cold front. Those high temperatures will be knocked back Tuesday as another fall cold front brings shower chances and cooler temperatures.
