Frances Weller emcees annual dinner.WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - It was all about the kids at the annual Community Boys and Girls Club dinner.
Every year, local leaders and supporters of the club attend the dinner to honor the hundreds of children who come in and out of the club every day.
Our Frances Weller served as mistress of ceremonies.
Buzz Peterson, UNCW's men's basketball coach, was the keynote speaker.
He delivered an inspirational speech, talking to the children about following their dreams and never becoming complacent.
He also shared some stories about his memories of Michael Jordan. The two were roommates and teammates at UNC.
