BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A man was killed in a car accident Thursday morning at the intersection of Funston Road and George II Highway.
According to Highway Patrol, James Corbett, 61, was driving on Funston Road and tried to make a left onto Highway 87. Authorities say Virginia Caton, 19, was driving along Highway 87 and the two cars collided.
Corbett was hit on the driver's side of the vehicle and was killed on impact.
According to Troopers, Caton was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries, but has since been released.
Highway Patrol said both drivers were wearing seatbelts and no charges will be filed.
