WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The public is invited to meet more than 40 sports legends and entertainers during the 10th Annual Willie Stargell Celebrity Golf Tournament Meet the Stars on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Landfall Park Hampton Inn & Suites.
The celebrities signing autographs include Baseball Hall of Fame member Joe Morgan, Cy Young Award winner Vida Blue, and Insanity fitness trainer Shaun T., just to name a few.
This star-studded event raises money to fight kidney disease in honor of Willie Stargell, who died from the disease.
Stargell was a Major League Baseball Player for the Pittsburgh Pirates and was inducted in to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988.
He lived in Wilmington with his wife, Margaret Weller-Stargell, until his death in 2001.
The three-day event includes an auction dinner at The Country Club of Landfall on Saturday and golf on Sunday.
