Source: Twitter user @itsjansonb(WMC-TV) – A demonstration, a protest, a pep rally. It's been called all kinds of different things -- even by those who where there and saw it happen.
However you define it, everybody on campus is talking about what happened at Ole Miss Tuesday night.
While opinions are varied, most agree they do not want their school to look bad.
It was a quiet and peaceful day on campus with a slightly different feel.
"We're a trending topic. A college and on Election Day, like, that's not something to be proud of," said Keilund Cowan, who attends Ole Miss.
Keilund Cowan says he is disappointed in what he witnessed.
"It started when we were in Stockard just chillin' and a bunch of guys just decided to burn an Obama-Biden sign," he said.
Cowan says the group shot firecrackers, walked to the Grove and back, and shouted racial remarks.
Two people were arrested when police were called to disperse the crowd of about 400 people.
"It was crazy. I just did not expect anything like that to happen," said student Peter Moss.
"I had never seen that many people out. There were people everywhere, agreed Chaz Barber.
"It was a huge demonstration that could've been avoided had people stayed in their dorms and not been ignorant," said Eddie Williams.
University official say the crowd was mostly peaceful and they are investigating the matter.
"It was just so many emotions at one time, but does it represent ole miss? No," said Danielle Bean, who is a journalism student.
She went to the scene to investigate.
"Last night was just to see about what happened. Am I surprised? No. Was I expecting a lot worse? Yes, she said.
"It was a small fraction of the school. I think we should not be judged on what happened last night," said Moss.
