
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Republican Frank Iler will keep his seat as a representative in the North Carolina General Assembly after he defeated Democratic challenger Lundia Washington for the seat.
Iler received 66 percent of the vote compared to Washington's 34 percent. Iler has served in the General Assembly since 2009.
Iler supported the General Assembly's budget when it comes to spending on education, while his challenger argued there needs to be reforms and upgrades to the current system.
