NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Former New Hanover County Commissioner Ted Davis, a Republican, has defeated Democrat Emilie Swearingen, a Kure Beach town council member, for the State House of Representative District 19 seat.
There was some controversy surrounding this race when incumbent Danny McComas decided not to seek re-election, and Davis was appointed to the seat.
