NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The Coastal Car Wash along Carolina Beach Road summed up their feeling about Election Day with two words.

"Don't B****!"

The business chose a colorful way to discuss your right to vote Monday night. A lighted flashing sign outside the business got the attention of plenty of drivers in the Monkey Junction area. We showed up and found a lot of drivers slowing down to get a look.

    Candidates have started to file for run in 2018 elections.Candidates have started to file for run in 2018 elections.

    The filing period is underway for candidates wanting to run in 2018 General Elections across North Carolina.  Voters will be electing candidates in several offices, including county commissioners, school board members, district attorneys, sheriffs and members of the state house and senate. All legislative seats are up for election in 2018, along with two congressional seats.
