WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Thousands took part in the 14th annual Battleship North Carolina Half Marathon and 5k Sunday morning. The race started and finished at the Battleship North Carolina.
The race is annually dedicated to the men and women who serve in the United States Military and to the men who once served on the Battleship North Carolina.
Proceeds from the race are donated to local charities such as the Battleship Restoration Fund, the leukemia & lymphoma society team in training, Cape Fear Literacy Council, and other local charities throughout the area.
