CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) - Detectives say a tip from the public has led to three arrests in the murder of a woman nearly five years ago in east Charlotte.

The Charlotte Observer reports (http://bit.ly/VjCP38) Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say one of the suspects already was in prison, and another was found in Virginia.

The arrests are in connection with the Dec. 15, 2007, slaying of 43-year-old Tawanna Montgomery. She was among four people traveling in an SUV when someone fired several shots at the vehicle. Montgomery died at Carolinas Medical Center.

Police identified the three suspects as 22-year-old Emileo Estevez Blount, 23-year-old Emmanuel Lee Blount and 23-year-old Patrick Alphonso Campbell.

Emmanuel Blount is serving 10 years and five months for armed robbery and other charges. Emileo Blount's record shows at least 10 arrests in recent years.
