WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Dog lovers came together Thursday night trying to raise awareness to get laws passed in order to crack down on puppy mills.
Organizers say North Carolina is attracting puppy mills because there are no laws on the books to prevent them. The petition has about 3,000 signatures.
The organizer got her dog from the Leland puppy mill and was appalled that the couple that ran it only got 3 years probation.
