WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Despite previous plans, it looks like the Cape Fear Fair and Expo will not reopen on Sunday because of Hurricane Sandy.
Organizers said the ground is still too wet and they did not want to risk anything with the possibility for strong wind gusts.
Previously, organizer Skip Watkins told WECT.com that they might be able to reopen the fair if the wind didn't pick up, but the official call was made to keep it closed.
Fair organizers have decided to add an extra day to the fair, because it was closed Saturday and Sunday. The fair will now run on Nov. 4 from noon until 11pm.
