WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Sandy is maintaining its hurricane status as of 11 a.m. Saturday morning.
Sustained winds are at 75 mph and it is moving to the north-northeast at 9 mph. The pressure dropped slightly to 958 millibars, which means the storm has strengthened just a bit.
Residents in our area can still expect heavy rain and windy conditions.
You can expect winds to continue out of the northeast from 25-35 mph with gusts as high as 50 mph. Some locations could see higher gusts throughout the day.
Temperatures will not climb much today, they will remain in the low 70s with lows in the low 60s.
