WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - NBA Hall of Famer, and Entrepreneur Earvin "Magic" Johnson gave a message of hope to a sold out croud Trask Coliseum.
"I Grew up poor, but I didn't have poor dreams." said Johnson, and continued with that kids need to, "Take care of your grades and anything can happen."
Since retiring from professional basketball Johnson has built a business empire, most recently joining a group that purchased the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Johnson was brought to UNCW by Wilma Daniels, a local businesswomen to be the featured speaker in the annual lecture series.
