BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A person riding a bike was killed in a traffic accident in Brunswick County Thursday afternoon.
According to troopers, a car and a bicyclist were involved in an accident on Highway 179 near Ocean Isle Beach.
Witnesses said traffic was backed up in the area on Highway 179 between Shallotte and Brick Landing.
Troopers are investigating the accident, but said they do not anticipate any road closures.
