WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Admittedly Adell Harris is an anxious person.
"I like to think of it as pretty upbeat, excited." Harris said during Tuesday's media day at Trask Coliseum. "The cup is always half full."
The same could be said of her roster.
The 2012-13 Lady Seahawks consist of six underclassmen and six upperclassmen, one of those is senior Chelsea McGowen who played for Harris when she was the head coach at Tusculum College.
"I knew what to expect from her and told my teammates what she was all about." McGowen said. "The transition has been an easy one, not only for me but for everyone."
"I probably talked to her the least in the offseason." Harris said. "I already knew what to expect from Chelsea, I had to get a feel for everyone else, I had to build those relationships."
Harris is also responsible for building on the two most successful seasons in the history of the women's basketball program. Over the last two seasons the Lady Seahawks have won at least 20 games and have advanced to postseason play in the WNIT.
"We've tasted the WNIT and no disrespect to the tournament but we want more." said junior Jessica Freeman. "We're in a position to be a really good team and not just this year."
UNCW opens the regular season November 9 at West Virginia in what will be the first of three-straight road games to open the schedule.
